The house is located in the center of the pretty village of Château d'Oléron, equidistant between the market and its pretty hall (Tuesday to Sunday and every day in July and August) and the peaceful and family beaches of Phibie. All the daily shops are active, pharmacy, food artisans, wine merchant, restaurant, bookstore and decoration. Playgrounds for children of all ages, a skate park are freely accessible while waiting for high tide. In season, a mini-golf awaits sports enthusiasts. The municipality has also set up large pétanque grounds. A rental company is at the end of the street and prepares the bikes you need to discover the almost 160km of cycle paths of Oléron. The Tourist Office is on the main square, 5 minutes walk away, with a very dynamic offer of activities, guided tours, shows throughout the year.
Below, at the port, the famous multi-coloured huts offer a variety of crafts that are constantly being renewed; Many open-air cafés liven up the long summer evenings.
Local terroirs allow us to search for beautiful products: the particular, the specific, the local. Products that often rhyme with simplicity when excellence is involved.
A gourmet dilemma could arise for the visitor: Land or Sea? From the port of Côtinière and its auction to the Oléron vineyards, from the pastures between the salt marshes to the hives of black bees, from the ponds of claires to the market gardens, the evidence is obvious: it will be Land AND Sea. Our Table d'hôtes evenings will demonstrate this to you.
