By car or motorbike:
• From Bordeaux: Follow the A10 motorway – Exit 25 at Saintes, towards Île d'Oléron. Turn right at the viaduct exit towards Le Château
• From Nantes: Follow the motorway – Exit La Rochelle, then follow Marans / La Rochelle / Rochefort / Ile d'Oléron. Turn right at the exit of the viaduct towards Le Château
• From Paris: Follow the A10 motorway – Exit La Rochelle / Rochefort, then follow Surgères / Rochefort / île d'Oléron. Turn right at the exit of the viaduct towards Le Château
The bridges of the Charente in Rochefort, the Seudre in Marennes / La Tremblade and Oléron are free.
By carpooling:
There is a Facebook group "Carpooling IO" .Simply join the group and you will be put in touch directly on the Facebook Group. for your journeys from or to the island of Oléron The price is set by the driver and booking fees are possible. To register, simply join the group. Connections are made directly on the Facebook Group.
Train + bus:
The island of Oléron is not served by train. However, at the railway stations of Surgères, Rochefort, Saintes, connections by coach or bus to the Château d'Oléron are available:
• From Paris: get off at Surgères or La Rochelle station: 2h30/2h50 (direct)
• From Nantes: get off at Rochefort station: 2h17 (direct)
• From Bordeaux:get off at Saintes station: 1h50 (direct)
